Samuel KIRK was born at Clive, Cheshire 1857. 

He married Sarah Ann WHITNEY Northwich at a Civil Ceremony in 1880.  Sarah was born Wharton, Cheshire 1855. 

At the time of the 1871 census Samuel (14, Ag Lab) was listed as a 'Servant' on the farm belonging to Robert CARTER, The Hill, Stanthorne.

At the time of the 1881 census Samuel (29, saltmaker) was living at 315 Station Road, Winsford together with his wife Sarah Ann (26), her daughter Ruth (4) and their son George Thomas (3 mths).

At the time of the 1891 census Samuel (34, Saltboiler) was living at 306 Station Road, Winsford together with his wife Sarah Ann (36), her daughter Ruth WHITNEY (14, Domestic Servant) and their children George Thomas (10), John W (7) and Arthur (3). Samuels widowed mother Mary (74, Seamstress) was also living wiyh them.  

At the time of the 1901 census Samuel (45, Stoker Salt Pans) was living at 350 Station Road, Winsford together with his wife Sarah Ann (46) and their children George Thomas (20, Weigh Clerk at Salt works ), Arthur (12) and Bertha (8). 

Samuel KIRK and Sarah Ann WHITNEY had the following children:
